Description

The Human adiponectin (ADP) ELISA Kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of ADP concentrations in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates, or urine. This kit exclusively recognizes human ADP. Adiponectin is the most abundant peptide secreted mainly by adipocytes. It is an insulin sensitizer, and decreased adiponectin levels are associated with insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. Adiponectin interacting with its receptors Adipo R1 and R2 activates multiple signaling pathways, including IRS1/2, AMPK, and p38 MAPK. Activation of IRS1/2 by adiponectin signaling is the main mechanism by which adiponectin sensitizes insulin action in insulin-responsive tissues. The detection mechanism of this kit is based on the Sandwich-ELISA technique.
