Description
This human Cortisol (COR) ELISA kit employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique to quantitatively determine the human COR content in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, saliva, and tissue homogenates, with a sensitivity of 0.049 ng/ mL. The kit has the advantages of high sensitivity, strong specificity, good repeatability, Intra-/inter-batch difference less than 10%, high recovery, and so on. Cortisol is the predominant physiological end-product of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. Clinical studies found that elevated cortisol may exert toxic effects on cognition and contribute to the pathology of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells pre-coated with goat-anti-rabbit antibody. HRP-conjugated COR is pipped into the wells, where COR in the sample or standards competes with the HRP labeled COR for limited binding sites on the immobilized anti-COR antibody. The solution color turns blue after ...Read more
