Description |
This Human neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) ELISA Kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of NSE concentrations in serum, plasma, urine, or tissue homogenates. NGAL is produced in kidney tubular cells and then released into the urine by these cells during acute kidney injury (AKI) that is common after heart surgy. Urinary and plasma NGAL has therefore been valuable for the diagnosis and prognosis of AKI. And NGAL can be used to predict the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Ellen F. Carney demonstrated that NGAL) is released by antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA)-stimulated neutrophils and might have a protective role in ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV). Based on the sandwich ELISA technique, NGAL in the sample is sandwiched between pre-coated NGAL antibody and Biotin-conjugated NGAL antibody. The Ag-Ab-Ag immune complex is labeled with HRP-avidin and then develops a color reaction after the addition of the TMB substrate solution.
