The product CSB-E12926h is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA Kit for quantitative analysis of human Pentraxin 3 (PTX3) in biological samples, including serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates. Based on the Sandwich-ELISA technique in combination with the enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction, the PTX3 levels can be calculated according to the standard curve. This Human PTX3 ELISA Kit has been verified by multiple tests with high sensitivity, strong specificity, precision less than 10%, good linearity, high recovery, and lot-to-lot consistency. PTX3, also called tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-inducible gene 14 protein (TSG-14), is an acute-phase protein and a member of the long pentraxin subfamily. PTX3 is produced and released by different cell types in response to primary pro-inflammatory stimuli and microbial moieties, is an essential mediator of innate resistance to selected pathogens of fungal, bacterial, and viral origin, and is involved in modulation of inflammation, tissue remodeling, and cancer. Mounting evidence has shown that PTX3 is a useful novel serological marker, regulating the immunoinflammatory response under various clinical conditions, including infection, female fertility, and vascular pathology. |
